The story of a photographer
Photography isn't just a passion for me—it's a way of life.
I've always been drawn to capturing the beauty and stories that unfold around us. My journey began as a child with nothing more than disposable cameras, and since then, it has been a whirlwind of discovery and growth.
- I began professionally in 2014 with engagement photos and weddings just for family for fun.
- In 2016 I started an internship doing graphic design, editing, and videography with a firm in Owen Sound.
- 2019 led me to do real estate videography and drone footage as a freelancer.
- In 2020 I began my Bachelor of Photography with Honours at Sheridan College.
- When COVID began I continued to restore old and damaged photos.
- As things opened up I landed a contract with a school photography company and took photos for Fall Picture Day and Graduation photos of students JK to grade 12.
- While doing that I began doing Christmas family photos and Santa Claus pictures in 2021.
- In 2023, Black Bat Design became fully registered and stepped out as its' own company providing family portraits and Santa Claus sessions for Heritage Place Shopping Centre.
My style can be described as "Thematic Portraits". I believe in the power of combining technique with raw emotion to create a powerful moment. Each photograph is a story waiting to be told, a memory waiting to be cherished.
As someone who's constantly seeking inspiration, I find beauty in the everyday. Whether it's the play of light and shadow or the candid moments that pass by unnoticed, I'm always on the lookout for the extraordinary within the ordinary.
